Venus
Diameter: 12100 km
Distance from the sun: 108.2 million km
Period of rotation: 243 Earth days
Period of revolution: 225 Earth days
Atmosphere: Venus has a dense atmosphere, composed chiefly of carbon dioxide, which generates a surface pressure 90 times greater than that on Earth. This massive blanket of carbon dioxide is also responsible for a runaway greenhouse effect that heats the planet’s surface to an average temperature of 467°C - hot enough to melt lead.
Temperature:
Max - 465°C
Min - -184°C
Number and names of moons:
Number – 2
Names of moon - No moons
Between Venus and Earth
Earth and Venus have very similar size and mass, and they orbit the Sun close to the Sun in very similar orbits. The size of Venus is only 650 km less than the size of Earth, and the mass of Venus is 81.5% the mass of the Earth.
Rotation of Venus
Venus rotates backwards compared to all the other planets in the Solar System. If you could fly up above the Solar System and then look down at the planets, all of them are turning in a counter-clockwise direction. Except Venus. It's rotating in a clockwise direction.
