Atmosphere: In the early Solar System, Mercury might had a thick atmosphere, like the Earth or Venus. Unfortunately, its low gravity wasn't able to hang thick atmosphere onto the Mercury, and the solar wind from the Sun blew away all of its atmospheric particles into space, never to return.
However, Mercury still have an atmosphere which contain hydrogen, helium, oxygen, sodium, calcium, potassium and water vapor. The hydrogen and helium atoms probably come from the solar wind.
